Many hands made light work, scooping soup mix to produce 1.5 million servings this week.
Many hands also turned peaches this week—565 bins of peaches, totaling about 565,000 pounds of donated fruit.
Many hands prepared and packed the 42,000 pounds of dry fruit that’s ready to go out to the nations.
Thank you, Lord Jesus! Your faithfulness made this happen!
We thank all our volunteers: Cornerstone Christian Fellowship (Issaquah, WA), Cornerstone Community Church (Atascadero, CA), Harbor Covenant Church (Gig Harbor, WA), all the short-term and long-term volunteers, staff, Summer Staff, and backpackers from Japan, South Korea, France, Spain, Peru, Switzerland, China, and Finland. Thank you for being the many hands that made this week a success!
“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.” (Matthew 16:26-27)
LOVE FEAST SPEAKER: Guy Graham
Guy was a drug addicted drug dealer in his hometown. Now he hands out free eggs, cheese, and milk in his hometown.
He once shamed his family name. Now he honors his family name.
Guy, who was a pastor’s kid, did a lot of partying in high school. One day his dad sat him down and said, “I have a precious jewel that I’ve worked hard for, and you are stealing it from me.”
Guy asked, “What is it, Dad? What am I stealing from you?”
“It’s my name,” his dad said.
After that conversation, Guy got into even worse drugs. Then one day he looked in the mirror and decided, “I’m better than this,” and he said his family name out loud, and decided to bring honor to his father’s name.
Over time, his life changed. He read the Bible, what he calls “[God’s] love letter,” and allowed God to transform his desires. On Feb. 1, 1982, he found Jesus. “He loves us more than we could possibly love,” Guy said.
Since then, he turned his life around, got married, had kids, and even adopted several special needs kids. Guy makes sure to tell his children to honor the family name by making good choices in life.
“When you make statements of faith out loud, God loves it. Look in the mirror and declare it out loud: ‘I’m done with it. I’m better than that.’ And then you walk into the opposite, you walk into purity.”
Today, Guy receives donations of perishable food items, and he goes around to rough neighborhoods, looking for people to give the food to.
“I get an idea, and I have learned to pray, ‘God, what if I do this? What if I just go around and hand out free eggs and milk?’ and God said, ‘Try it and see what happens.’”
Just last week, Guy handed out food in a really rough neighborhood.
“A man, covered in tattoos, with his girlfriend, received the eggs and milk. I turned around and said, ‘God loves you. Do you believe that?’ And the man said, ‘I do now.’”
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” John 15:9
SHARE THE LOVE
The open mic is where we celebrate and share what God has done in our hearts!
- God is a part of your life every single day.
- Being here and working hard—it’s very refreshing.
- There were some massive weeds out there, but you just take it by the root and pull it out. It comes out so much easier than you think.
- In quietness, you will see God’s mightiness.
- Continue to set aside your time in your life to do mission trips.
- It’s been an amazing time here and I’m so thankful.
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
